Mixed Print Dresses

Bold colors and prints are my signature so a mixed print dress is not anything I'd shy away from. I  first spotted the Roberto Cavalli Mixed-Print Sheath dress at Neiman Marcus and thought it was stunning. A few weeks later Beyonce was pictured wearing it and she definitely did the dress some justice.

Hurricane Sandy

We on the east coast are bracing ourselves for the apocalypse Hurricane Sandy. People in supermarkets are losing their minds. Children will be feasting on King Vitamin because Cap'n Crunch is flying off the shelves. But we fashion-y people are cool, calm and collected and using this opportunity to stay home and shop online. As long as we have power we can look for new items to obsess over. Hence this post about fashionable but functional rain boots.

La Canadienne

La Canadienne boots are made in Montreal, Canada and are guaranteed waterproof for six months. Passion is my favorite pair, they come in patent, pictured above, leather and suede.

These boots are affordable and come in array of styles and colors. They have Poron foot beds covered in terry for extra cushioning.  Festival, the boot pictured, above is my personal favorite, they are waterproof but lightweight enough to fit in your carry on. Best part? They are only $65.00. 

Hunter

These boots have been described as both durable, comfortable and classic. They are skid proof and of course waterproof.

I have loved these Miu Miu crystal heeled sandals for a long time but at a price tag of $990.00 this love is unrequited. Luckily Nine West/Boutique 9 has produced these lovely beauties called Notary for a fraction of the price. Are they knockoffs? No. But you can see a bit inspiration or maybe I should say aspiration in the Notary sandals. At $150 they are definitely more budget friendly.

P.S. Have you been to Nine West, I mean 9 W lately? The brand is undergoing a massive makeover which includes rebranding itself as 9 W (see Huffington Post and Forbes and  Women's Wear Daily articles).
